Expecting

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 14, 2026

Expecting is built on a simple principle: your pregnancy data belongs to you, and only to you. This policy explains, in plain language, what that means in practice.

What we collect

Nothing. Expecting has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no servers that store personal data. We cannot see, access, or sell your data, because it never reaches us.

Where your data lives

Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Expecting reads the types you approve (such as weight, water, steps, heart rate, and workouts) to display them in your trackers, and writes the entries you log (weight, water, and — with your consent — a pregnancy record) back to Health. Health data is used only for these app features. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never shared with third parties, and never leaves your device except through Apple's own Health/iCloud mechanisms that you control.

Notifications

All reminders and weekly updates are local notifications, scheduled on your device from your due date. No push-notification service is used, and no device tokens are sent anywhere.

What the app downloads

The app periodically checks this website (expecting.duski.org) for updated educational content — the food-safety database, articles, and weekly guides. This is a one-way download of public content. The request contains no personal data and no identifiers; standard web-server logs (IP address, timestamp) may exist transiently for security purposes and are not used to identify users.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes all local data. To remove synced data as well, delete the app's data under Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Expecting. That erases everything, permanently. There is no copy anywhere else.

Children's privacy

Expecting is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Because the app collects nothing, changes would only ever describe the same or stronger protections.
